The
Back up ring is a anti extrusion ring which prevents the O-Ring from extruding
in the clearance gap. It is required to be seated behind the sealing O-Ring.
In case of a double acting pressure, the Back up ring is seated on
both sides of the sealing ring in the groove.
Back up rings are also available in split & endless form to enable ease
of fitment.
